Essence of France is a family run business based in Oxfordshire. Our directors are husband and wife, Neil and Penny Campbell, while other family members are among the staff helping with the administration and running of the business. 

The catalyst for the beginning of the Company was Penny's daughter Madeline. As her daughter became a teenager, her skin began reacting to the various skin care preparations which were available on the market for young people. As Madeline sought medical advice it became apparent that it was the vast array of chemicals that are used in these products that was causing the skin problems.

With this information Penny decided to source natural and organic products which would not cause these adverse reactions; and due to the fact that France is the home of the Natural Soap and Cosmetic industry, dating back to the 9th Century it seemed the obvious choice. Having found the high quality products she was searching for, the family decided to set up Essence of France to enable people in the UK to also benefit from using them.

None of the items we sell contain SLS's, Petroleum Chemicals i.e. Paraffin, or Parabens and all packaging used on the products must be recyclable. When sending out orders we only use recyclable packaging. We try to support traditional manufacturing methods and processes, which enables us to provide products of a very high quality to our customers.

Our website is available to both retail and wholesale customers. We are constantly striving to provide a high level of customer service and to this end are able to give extensive product information and support to both individual customers and retailers.
